The Bahamas
From the bustling capital Nassau to the private luxurious Berry Islands.
Nassau
The sun rises over the capitol inviting you to venture into the markets of Nassau with craftsmen displaying the handwoven and hand carved goods. Walking through the streets, the sound of steel drums and laughter paved the alleyways in bright yellows and cool blues. Lush plants draped the balconies and Reds, Yellows, Greens painted the images of Bob Marley. The Government building with a statue of Christopher Columbus, Forts, and "The Queens Staircase": composed of 66 steps, hand carved limestone by slaves from 1793-1794. Lush vines and wildlife grow along the stone walls to preserve and protect a place of remembrance. Waters and Beaches for work and play: Coral beaches, parasailers and boats lining the docks filled to the brim with conch shells. Nassau is a beautiful city full of good vibes and heartwarming locals.
The Berry islands
Miles of white pristine shoreline hug The Berry Islands (Little Stirrup Cay). The shallow waters hold thousands of baby jellyfish soaking up the Caribbean sun. Wildlife roams the island, from baby hermit crabs to foot-long Iguanas relaxing under palm trees. At local Sting Ray City you have the opportunity to interact with 10-15 rays. Stings rays can sense 3 feet from under the sand providing a suction strong enough to capture any prey, but these rays enjoyed hand fed squid. Parasailing is popular providing panoramic views above the crystal water and all types of wildlife coexisting. Coco Cay is a gorgeous tourist island, for those who enjoy adventurous excursions or desire to bask in the sun.
